NZ Labour has launched its 2026 general election campaign slogan: “Better starts now.” Had an excellent discussion about Andy Burnham’s social media strategy for The Campaign Podcast with Maisie McCabe Charlotte Rawlings and Lucy Shelley. The episode is coming soon to your podcast provider of choice. Advertising agency Leagas Delaney have offered to donate their creative services to support the by-election campaign of Count Binface in Clacton. The agency have shared a bunch of strong concepts online in attempt to appeal to their prospective client, but have yet to receive a response from the self-style “space warrior”. How do you use influencers to market political candidates and ideas? In a world where credibility is currency, does paying for social media reach via creators make sense? This clip is from the latest episode of The Political Marketing Podcast. Reform UK are running this attack ad in paid media. Reform have launched their first attack ads on Andy Burnham in the Makerfield by-election. They position Burnham as a career opportunist putting personal ambitions above the people of Makerfield. The roulette wheel execution isn’t bad as it clearly lands the attack; the luggage one requires you to know Burnham had considered a range of other seats, which most people will be unaware of. However, I’m not sure this attack line is particularly strong. Burnham’s connection to the constituency is pretty solid; his kids went to school in the area. And the constituency is within Greater Manchester, of which Burnham is the metro Mayor. Feels like first thoughts from Farage’s lot. There’s a lot to like about the new Think Labour visual identity. One week to go. It’s doesn’t matter how many votes you get, it’s about where you set the bar. #politicalcartoon 😬 Darlington Conservatives have distributed a campaign leaflet attacking the Green Party designed in the style of a discount supermarket advertisement, featuring images of drugs alongside listed prices and promotional-style offers.
