What song should the Labour Party choose for their general election campaign anthem?
‘Changes’ by David Bowie, according to new research by a music consultancy.
Plus, the consultants think that the Tories should use ‘Ain’t No Stoppin’ Us Now’ by McFadden and Whitehead.
Sonic branding agency DLMDD suggest that Sunak and Starmer should choose campaign music that is likely to improve perceptions of their leadership styles.
According to polling by SoundOut, Starmer’s worst leadership attributes are how approachable (37%), dependable (37%), witty (35%) and sincere (38%) he is.
SoundOut’s audio tests show that Bowie’s ‘Changes’ performs well in these areas.
DLMDD’s hypothesis is that by associating Starmer with this song his lowest leadership scores will improve and Labour will benefit at the ballot box.
Sunak’s poorest scores are for how honest (41%), human (37%), a leader (35%) and visionary (35%) he is. Associating Sunak with ‘Ain’t No Stoppin’ Us Now’ will apparently help turn these scores around.
‘Take on Me’ by A-ha is apparently another good music option for Starmer and ‘Here Comes the Sun’ by The Beatles would be a strong campaign track for Sunak.
