NZ Labour slogan: Better Starts Now

New Zealand Labour has launched its 2026 general election campaign slogan: “Better starts now.”

It’s a pretty good slogan.

It’s a creative take on the classic challenger positioning of “it’s time for a change”.

The Labour Leader Chris Hipkins said:

“This election is a choice: three more years of hardship, or a better future. While National is making things worse, Labour is fighting for more jobs, affordable healthcare, and lower household bills, so everyone can build a future here at home. ‘Better starts now’ captures the spirit of our campaign. It’s a call to action, and a promise for better jobs, more affordable healthcare, warm, dry homes, and real action on the cost of living.”

Labour’s hoardings will begin going up across the country from today, ahead of the party’s campaign launch on 27 September in Auckland. Polling day is on Saturday, 7 November 2026.
