Labour released a new slogan in time for their party conference this year: “a fairer, greener future” and they’re using it their online advertising.
The slogan is smart in that it speaks clearly to voters concerns around the cost of living, recent extreme weather events and general societal inequity.

Labour is traditionally seen as better on environmental issues, but these are typically less salient than other areas of policy (such as the economy).
However, international events leading to high energy prices – that have triggered wider inflation – mean that sustainable domestic energy production and the economy are now inextricably linked and are likely to be top of voters’ minds for some time.
Labour have been talking about a Green New Deal for years. Now that voters are starting to pay attention to the topic, it’s a smart play to put that message front and centre.
