Jess Phillips’ has launched her campaign to become the leader of the Labour Party.
Her slogan is “Speak Truth. Win Power.”
It’s a good one on two counts: (1) it feels authentic; Phillips is known for her honest personal style. (2) It is differentiating; other candidates in the race aren’t most famous for their straight-talking approach.
But is Labour’s failure to win that they haven’t been speaking truthfully about the problems facing the country?
A political brand needs to be motivating as well as tenable and differientating.
It will be interesting to see if it develops into a positioning that persuasively argues why Jess Phillips should be Labour leader.
