What a cock-up! They’ve made a dogs dinner out of Brexit

People’s Vote have launched a new nationwide poster campaign.

The adverts “Dog’s Dinner” and “Cock Up” are designed to confirm in voters’ minds the idea that the Brexit negotiations are a mess; they also promote a march taking place on 20th October in central London.

The billboard sites are in areas of the country which voted Leave but which have – according to pollsters – now changed their mind.

The strategy behind the posters seems smart.

People’s Vote reckon that if they can get Leave voters to agree that the negotiations are not going smoothly, they are then more likely to support a second referendum.

The posters are fairly simple, but the fact that the concept requires the viewer to join the dots means the message will likely be memorable.

Anything with too much bite risks alienating an audience who are not predisposed to supporting People’s Vote, so the tone feels right for this stage of their campaign.
