Scotland in Union, a non-party movement which unites people around a positive view of Scotland in the UK, has unveiled a poster – with the headline ‘Referendumb’ – outside the venue that is hosting the SNP Spring Conference.
The group is trying to provoke anger amongst No voters about the fact that their vote in the 2014 Independence Referendum is being ignored by the Scottish government.
This is a great piece of attack advertising by a group representing the 55%. It has a spirit and energy that was so often lacking in much of the Better Together creative.
And – like many great PR stunts – it’s timeliness will mean that it will get disproportionate earned media coverage.
I suspect this will be galvanising to the hopes of Unionists that will have very likely, until this moment, felt like everything was going against them.
